Tokyopop set to make it big in Europe,

with help from The Dyer Partnership

(5/3/2004)

TOKYOPOP Inc, the leading North American publisher of manga (Japanese influenced graphic novels), is partnering with one of the country's fastest growing business advisory and accountancy firms, The Dyer Partnership. The move follows TOKYOPOP's strategic decision to expand its current UK retail sales operation. The Dyer Partnership will support TOKYOPOP as it sets up a European operation, from which it will guide growth in the UK.

TOKYOPOP chose The Dyer Partnership based on the company's track record in helping other international corporations successfully form operations in the UK. Hoping to avoid the inherent downtime of complex financial, HR and legal research, TOKYOPOP sought The Dyer Partnership's expertise and instant access to accounting and general business knowledge for operating in the UK.

"We wanted to hit the ground running, and The Dyer Partnership was a highly recommended solution," said TOKYOPOP CFO Mark Lebowitz. "The company has an excellent reputation and should satisfy all of our requirements for a successful European expansion plan."

TOKYOPOP is not only the leading North American publisher of manga, the fastest growing segment within the publishing industry, but is responsible for setting the industry standard for manga price and format. Manga has been made famous in the UK by productions such as Digimon, Power Rangers and Chobits.

Commented Mark Dyer, CEO of The Dyer Partnership: "When businesses are looking to expand into a new territory, the local business protocols and procedures can seem overwhelming as they differ greatly from region to region. We provide a cost-effective service that helps establish and maintain key business and financial processes, therefore eliminating the need for firms to recruit a local financial director, which can cost both time and money."
